PRESENTATION All our subwoofers were designed and developed with the latest simulation and prediction softwares, in combination with feedback from our costumers and over 35 years of experience in designing loudspeakers. We even test vibrations in the cabinets to be able to reinforce the wood in the right places to eliminate vibrations, thus raising the Max SPL considerably. Every subwoofer model comes in two versions: Passive (bi-amplified) where an external amplifier and DSP must be used to control and power the woofer. All models are pre-programmed in our Processors and amplifiers with DSP. Active (self-powered) where there are built-in amplifiers in the loudspeaker, supplying the cone-speakers with DSP-processed amplification. Depending on configuration and if the subwoofer are using one or two come speakers the amplifiers are » Self-powered single cone woofers The woofer is powered by a 1500W into 8 ohm Class-D amplifier with high precission DSP processors. There is 4 presets to select from with different setups depending on application, including cardioid setup, (see manual for further information) » Self-powered double cone woofers All double cone woofer models use two built-in 1050W into 8 ohm amplifiers to drive the two woofers, where each woofer has a 1050W into 8 ohms dedicated amplifier with on-board, high precision DSP. 4 presets are avaliable with seperarate settings, (see manuals for configurations) MAX SPL and sensitivity Max SPL are specified in 2 Pi / half-space (equivalent to placing the subwoofer on the floor) this is, we think, the most accurate way of giving the user a fair assumption of what the loudspeaker can actually achieve, if placed in a corner, or by a wall, the Max SPL (or actually the sensitivity) will go up with about +3 dB for each reflective surface. Some manufacturers specify max SPL in peak (+3 to +6dB) a rather useless information according to us, but it will look like the speaker can performe more than it actually can.

ACTIVE SUBWOOFERS Our subwoofers for tour and portable use are avaliable in two versions 1) Bi-amplified (passive) 2) Self-powered (active) The Bi-amplified versions needs to have external amplification (we recommend the Prophon P10000 amplifier.) and a DSP processor for adjusting crossover frequencies, EQ-points, limiter. The self-powered version uses class-D amplifiers with 2 x 1050W power in each subwoofer. Furthermore, there are four presets to chose from, each preset is carefully designed for a specific use. In our single cone subwoofers (B1HPA, B18HPA) one amplifier is adressed to a speakon output, with a seperate gain control. Four presets with different setups: 1) Internal woofer / external bi-amplified woofer 2) Internal woofer / external fullrange speaker 3) Internal woofer / external bi-amplified woofer stacked in a cardioid setup 4) Internal cardioid woofer / external fullrange speaker (to be used with an additional subwoofer using preset 2) In our double cone subwoofers each 1050W amplifier supplies one woofer. Here there are also four presets for different setups: 1) Live music 2) Recorded music (club) 3) cardioid live music 4) cardioid recorded music (club) |
